Installation
Tools and equipment
A certain amount of manual dexterity is required for installation. Observe the
previously mentioned sequence of installation steps.
Before beginning, have the following equipment available:
– Phillips screwdriver
– Drill with bit, suitable for ceiling
– Wall plugs and screws
– Measuring tape/folding ruler
– Spirit level
– Pencil
– Stable ladder
– Air hose for extraction mode, or activated carbon filter for circulating air
mode
Important!
Some tasks for the installation will be made much easier if a second
person is available to assist in passing the tools and to hold the
components.
Removing the protective film
The painted surfaces of your new extraction hood are covered with film to
protect it from scratching during transportation. Only remove the protective film
immediately before final attachment of the extraction hood.
Risk of injury!
Observe that the appliance can have sharp edges on the inside.
Establishing the installation site
Caution!
Make sure that when drilling the holes no lines are damaged.
1. In order to position the appliance exactly above the centre of the cooker, use
a plumb line to mark a point on the ceiling directly above the centre of the
cooker.
2. Position the centre of the base plate over this point in such a way that the
broad side points in the direction from which the extraction hood will later
be controlled and mark the eleven holes (see diagram).
Important!
If possible, move the cooker so that there is sufficient space to install
the extraction hood. Use a stable ladder and get a second person to
assist you.
Please observe your cooker’s instruction manual! If a greater
clearance than 65 cm is specified, this must be taken into
consideration.
