1. Remove the screws and remove the engine cover
and the muffler cover.
WARNING: Do not insert your fingers or
objects into the cooling air intake during
operation. Doing so may contact the rotating
parts and dangerous.
2. Inspect the cooling air intake and cylinder fins after
every 20 hours of operation. Remove and clean any
dirt or clogs.

b) CHT220-60
3. Attach the engine cover and muffler cover, and
securely tighten the screws.
Muffler maintenance procedure
WARNING: Do not use a defective muffler.
WARNING: The muffler gets very hot when
working and idling. Wear protective gloves
to prevent burns.
Inspect the muffler regularly for bolts for looseness,
damage, and rust. If an exhaust gas leak is found, stop
using the machine and request repair immediately.
1. Stop the engine and cool the muffler.
2. Remove the screws and remove the muffler cover.
3. Remove the bolt and remove the muffler.
Note: Some chemicals inside the muffler are
carcinogenic. If the muffler is damaged, do not touch
these materials.
4. Insert a screwdriver through the exhaust port of the
muffler to remove the carbon inside the muffler.
At the same time, remove the carbon at the muffler
exit.
