WARNING!
Hazard due to laser radiation
If the VITE multi-spot option is used for patients who are unable to
fixate steadily, there is a risk of injury from the laser beam.

Do not use the VITE multi-spot option for patients who are
unable to fixate steadily (e.g. in the event of nystagmus,
tremor, Parkinson's, epilepsy, extremely poor eyesight, inability
to concentrate).
CAUTION!
Mechanical risk from falling parts
The patient may injure him/herself or the devices may be damaged.

Instruct the patient not to touch the devices with his/her hands.
u
Instruct the patient not to use the devices as a support or an
aid when standing up.
CAUTION!
Mechanical hazard while carrying the devices
Improper lifting and setting down of the devices may result in the
hands and fingers being crushed.

Ensure that no parts of the body (fingers, hands), or objects,
are trapped beneath the devices when lowering the devices.
6.2 Operation with laser slit-lamp
6.2.1 Adjusting the slit lamp and eyepieces
Action 1. Make sure the eyepieces are completely plugged in and the
eyecups pulled out (for spectacle wearers: pushed in).
2. Turn the diopter setting ring on both eyepieces fully in a "+"
direction (anti-clockwise) as far as it will go.
3. First of all, attach a piece of paper (business card or similar) to
the object plane of the slit lamp.
4. Center the slit projector and binocular tube to the slit lamp
base.
5. On the slit lamp, choose the highest magnification.
6. Open the slit.
7. Look through the eyepieces. Use the joystick to focus on the
paper surface and lock the slit lamp base.
8. Close the illuminating slit to a narrow line.
9. On the slit lamp, choose the lowest magnification.
10. Look through each eyepiece in turn, rotating the diopter
setting ring for the eyepiece through which you are looking in
the "-" direction (clockwise) until the surface of the paper is
sharply in focus.
11. Select the other magnification steps on the slit lamp.
