We congratulate you on your outstanding new photo adapter.
The Carl Zeiss brand is famous for outstanding optical achievements,
precision workmanship and long service life.
Please observe the following instructions for use in order to obtain
the best from your camera adapter and to ensure that it remains your
constant companion for many years to come.
You also need a T2 camera adapter (photographic accessories) for the
appropriate bayonet fitting to connect this Photo Adapter to your 35 mm
SLR camera.
Fitting the Photo Adapter and settings
Connect the T2 camera adapter (Fig. 1/A) with the Photo Adapter by screwing
the T2 camera adapter onto the thread of the Photo Adapter (Fig. 1/B).
The Photo Adapter is screwed onto the thread (M 45 x 0.5) of the spotting
scope case (Fig. 1/C) instead of the eyepiece.
Now connect the camera using the bayonet fitting of the T2 camera adapter.
We recommend you use a firm tripod (Carl Zeiss tripod, order number
1206-889) to prevent blurring.
You can rotate the camera to move between portrait and landscape format.
To do this, release the locking screw (Fig. 1/D) on the Photo Adapter and
rotate the camera as required. Tighten the locking screw afterwards.
Care and maintenance
A Carl Zeiss Photo Adapter needs no special care.
Do not wipe off coarse dirt particles (e. g. sand) from the lenses, but blow
them off or remove them with a soft brush.
Fingerprints on the lens surfaces may affect them in the course of time.
The easiest way to keep the lenses clean is by breathing on them and wiping
with a soft optical cleaning cloth or optical cleaning paper.
To avoid a possible fungal coating which is common in the tropics, store the
optics in a dry place and always ensure good aeration of the lens surface.
