To define the size of the sample embedding
cylinder, you can adjust its diameter (Fig. 71). Use
the drop-down list at the top of the
Specimen
Navigator
tool window next to
Specimen
diameter
. You can pick default values or manually
insert a diameter. Recently used specified
diameters are listed next to
Recent
. The diameter
specified is directly influencing the
Collision
Check
(see
3.4.3.3 System Options – Hardware
and should match the actually used sample.
For an exchange of a sample holder click the
Load
Position
button. The same holder will be driven to
the upper most position. Now an easy access of the sample holder through the upper system cavity door
is possible.
You can define a position which you might want to return to during the course of imaging by pressing
the
Set Home Position
button after putting the sample to the desired spot. To return to this position
you click the
Home Position
button.
The distance between the Load Position and the y-position for imaging is often quite large. This results in
high numbers for the y-coordinate which are not easy to handle. The current y-position is set to zero
when you press the
Reset Y Reference
button.
This will not affect the coordinates in the
Multiview-Setup
tool window (see section
Multidimensional Acquisition – Multiview-Setup)
. Here the y axis parameters will retain their original
naming and need no changing
