Balancing
1. Loosen the friction
adjustment screw of the
suspension arm.
2. Insert a 8 mm (M10) hex
key into opening of the
articulated joint cover.
3. Slightly lift the suspension
arm by 10° from its
horizontal position. Use the
hex key to adjust the balance
screw until balance is
achieved.
To increase the lifting force, turn the hex key in the direction toward bigger weight;
To decrease the lifting force, turn the hex key in the direction toward smaller weight.

CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
With an incorrectly balanced system, brake release may lead to
uncontrolled movements of the suspension arm.
•
Balance the surgical microscope before surgery, without the patient
•
The suspension arm is under spring force. Hold the suspension arm
securely in place before you loosen the locking knob.
•
Never exceed the maximum permissible weight capacity of the
suspension arm (See Label #4 in Section 3.2).
•
Readjust the balance of the suspension arm after every change of
accessories.
•
Check the balance at different heights of the suspension arm
CAUTION!
Risk of crushing - mind your fingers!
Fingers may be crushed in the areas marked with the "Risk of crushing"
label.
•
Do not touch these areas while the system is being moved or
brought in its working / transport position.
