Z-KEY Formation User Manual
What is a Z-KEY formation?
This feature allows users to change the layout of the keys by performing a 1-to-1 key swap,
and may be ideal for games that require intensive micromanagement as it will help users in
combining frequently used keys in a localized area on the keyboard.
1. Before Getting Started
1. This program can only be used with Zalman ZM-K700M keyboard.
2. This program only works under the Z Key mode. The Z Key mode is indicated by the
RBG lighting on the [Z] icon in the upper right corner. If you are on the N Key mode the
[Z] icon will only emit white light. Also, please note that the Z-Key formation program will
only work when the Windows key lock mode is enabled (FN + Windows key) which is
indicated by the padlock icon on the top left corner.
3. Up to 15 pair of keys can be swapped.
4. As shown on the image below, the Windows key, FN, Volume Up/Down, Mute, and [Z]
key are locked and cannot be altered.
5. The program only allows 1-to-1 key swapping, so removing or duplicating a key is not
possible.
2. Z-Key Formation Instructions
1. Double click the Z-KEY Formation icon to start the program. Interface will appear as
shown below.
