Figure 20 Connections for Decoding to SDI

RUNNING THE DECODER
The Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS also supports streaming decode and display via SDI. The steps below show how to
use the Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS to decode a stream generated by another Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS.
8.1
Connect the Decoder Board
Connect the Ethernet to a hub/router connected to the streaming source.
Connect the Serial and 12V power.
Connect “SDI Out” of the Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS to an SDI monitor (or to an SDI->HDMI converter
connected to an HDMI monitor).
8.2
Set up the Decoder Board to work with the Encoder Board
If you are using another Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS as the encoding source, you need to make sure that the
encoding Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS and decoding Z3-DM368-SDI-RPS have different IP addresses and
different MAC addresses. If you are using DHCP, this will automatically be taken care of. If you are
not using DHCP, you should set at least one of them to use DHCP to ensure the addresses are
different.
