IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using and keep for future reference.
2. Make sure that your outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated on the rating label.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plug
or unit in water or other liquid.
4. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years old and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge
if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved. Children should not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be made by children without supervision.
5. Children less than 8 years old should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
Children aged over 8 years old should only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has
been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children under 8 years old should not plug in, regulate and clean
the appliance or perform user maintenance.
6. Infants, the disabled and the elderly should not be in the direct airflow from the fan for long
periods of time.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.
8. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
9. Do not attempt to repair, disassemble or modify the appliance. There are no user-
serviceable parts inside.
10. CAUTION: If using an extension lead please ensure you do not exceed the maximum rated
operational wattage/load of the extension lead.
11. Do not insert any objects into the fan as it may cause an electric shock or injury or damage
to the fan. Do not block or tamper with the fan in any manner while it is in operation.
12. Only fill the water reservoir with clean water. It is recommended to use distilled or filtered
water.
13. Always turn the fan off and unplug it before refilling the water reservoir.
14. This fan is not intended for use in wet or damp locations.
15. Do not use the device with wet hands or barefoot.
16. Do not place the fan in a place where it could fall into a bathtub or other water reservoirs.
17. Disconnect the fan from the mains power when not in use and before cleaning. When not
in use store it in a safe, dry location.
