HOUR METER
HEADLIGHT CONTROL
The Retriever vehicle is equipped with an hour
meter, located on the dash panel to the left of the
steering column (Figure 8). The hour meter should
be used by the trained technician in order to track
vehicle usage and determine when periodic service
procedures are required. See Periodic Service
Schedule on page 24.
The headlight control is located on the dash panel
to the left of the steering column (Figure 8). Pull
the headlight control knob out to turn headlights
on and push the knob in to turn headlights off.
We recommend headlights be in the off position
when engine is not running.
NOTE: Using the headlights for extended
periods of time without the engine running, or
with the engine idling, will discharge the battery.

CHOKE
The choke is located on the seat support panel
below and to the left of the driver's left knee
(Figure 7).
If the vehicle is hard to start in cool or cold
temperatures, activate choke: depress the
accelerator pedal halfway to the floor, then pull
the choke handle out to activate. NOTE: This is
a short pull choke. Take extra precaution not
to over pull choke.
Push choke handle back into panel when the
engine begins to run smoothly.
Failure to disengage the choke will prematurely
wear engine parts and significantly decrease
engine performance.
