4.3 System Recovery
When a system error or alarm occurs, it needs to be cleared in order to
return to normal operation. The paragraphs below describe the different
types of alarms and errors that might be encountered and how to clear
them.
4.3.1 Alarms and Errors
Alarms and errors will stop the program. The three levels of alarms and
errors are as follows:
• Error Messages
• Minor Alarms
• Major Alarms

4.3.1.1 Error Messages
Error messages are usually the result of simple, easily cleared operation
errors. One example of this type of error is pressing the START button
when the robot is not in PLAY mode. Clear errors of this type by pressing
the CANCEL button on the Programming Pendant.
4.3.1.2 Minor Alarms
Minor alarms usually involve programming errors. Clear alarms of this
type by pressing the [CANCEL] button on the Programming Pendant.
4.3.1.3 Major Alarms
Clear alarms of this type by cycling the Controller power in accordance
with the following steps:
1. Rotate the Controller power ON-OFF switch to OFF (see
).
2. Allow the Controller power ON-OFF switch to remain in the OFF
position for approximately 10 seconds.
3. Rotate the Controller power ON-OFF switch back to ON.
