AVE THIS OWNER'S MANUAL

Specific Safety Rules

For ALL Garden Tools

ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION.

A grass trimmer can throw foreign objects into

your eyes which could cause permanent eye

damage.

ALWAYS wear safety goggles (not glasses).

ordinary eyeglases have only impact-resistant

lenses...they are NOT safety goggles.

• Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the

tool on. A wrench or key that is left attached to a

rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.

• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at

all times. Proper footing and balance allow for better

control of the tool in unexpected situations.

• Do not use tool if it cannot be turned on or off using

the switch. A tool that cannot be controlled by the

switch is dangerous, and must be repaired.

• Disconnect the battery pack from the tool or place the

switch in the locked or off position before making any

adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool.

Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of

   starting the tool accidentally.

• Store idle tools out of the reach of children and other

untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands

  of untrained users.

• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from

items such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails,

screws, or other small metal objects that can make

a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting

the battery terminals together may cause sparks,

   burns, or a fire.

• Check for misalignment, binding, or breakage of

moving parts, and any other condition that may

affect the operation of the tool. If the tool is dam

aged, have it repaired before using it. Many acci

dents are caused by poorly maintained tools.

• Use only accessories that are recommended for the

tool by the manufacturer. Accessories that may be

suitable for one tool may create a risk of injury when

  used with another tool.

• Servicing of this tool must be performed by qualified

repair personnel. Service or maintenance that is

performed by unqualified personnel may result in a

risk of injury. If the tool requires servicing, call the

  toll-free helpline, at 1-8

66

-523-5218.

• When servicing a tool, use only identical replace

ment parts. Follow the instructions in the Mainte

nance section of this manual. The use of unauthorized

parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instruc tions

may create a risk of shock or injury.

• Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use tool in damp or wet locations.
• Do not use tool in the rain.
• Keep bystanders and children away while operating the tool.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, because they can get caught in moving parts. The use
of rubber gloves and protective footwear is recommended when working outdoors.
• Avoid unintentional start-ups.
• Do not grasp the exposed cutting line when picking up or holding the tool.
• Do not force the tool. It will do the job better and with less likelihood of injury if it is used at the rate that it was
  designed to work at.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• When it is not in use, the tool should be stored indoors in dry location, high up or locked in order to keep it out
  of the reach of children.
• Maintain tool with care. Keep the cutting line clean for best performance and in order to reduce the risk of injury.
• Keep guards in place and in working order.
• Keep hands and feet away from cutting line.
• Always use eye protection.
