(See Below) Lay the chain around the sprocket and check that the tangs of the chain
links are sitting correctly in the slots of the sprocket. Then lay the chain around the chain
bar in the direction shown below.
CORRECT
•
The cutting edge of the saw chain faces forward
(towards the nose) on the top edge of the chain
bar.
CAUTION!
The chainsaw is fitted with a floating type chain sprocket. If the chain is
not fitted correctly it can damage the drive spline and oil pump. This will void your
warranty if the engine is started.
BEFORE USING A NEW SAW CHAIN OR CHAIN BAR FOR THE FIRST TIME
LIBERALLY LUBRICATE THE SAW CHAIN AND CHAIN BAR BY HAND WITH AN
OIL CAN.
•
Align the saw chain tensioning pin located on
the inside of the clutch cover saw chain tension
adjuster hole (A) in the chain bar.
•
Fit the chain brake/clutch cover and bar fastening
nuts, finger tight only.
NOTE:
You may need to adjust the position of the pin so
it will engage the saw chain tension adjuster hole (A) by
moving the chain tension screw as shown below.
