a. Connect the digital circuit tester (

the fuel pump terminals as shown.

b. Move the fuel sender float to empty fuel tank

position “3” and full fuel tank position “4” level
position.

c. Measure the fuel sender resistance.

4. Install:

Fuel pump
Refer to “FUEL TANK” on page 7-1.

5. Connect:

●

Fuel hose

●

Fuel sender coupler

●

Fuel pump coupler
Refer to “FUEL TANK” on page 7-1.

CHECKING THE SPEED SENSOR

1. Check:

●

Speed sensor output voltage
Out of specification

→

Replace.

a. Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the

speed sensor coupler (wire harness side) as
shown.

b. Set the main switch to “ON”.
c. Elevate the rear wheel and slowly rotate it.
d. Measure the voltage of white/yellow and

black/blue. Each with full rotation of the front
wheel, the voltage reading should cycle from
0 V to 5.0 V to 0 V to 5.0 V.
