WRITING NEW PROGRAM TO FLASH MEMORY
Inclusion of flash memory onto the control sheet had enabled the following operations.
(1)
Record to and replay from the flash memory: 1 MB
(2)
Program: 512 KB
On the MPX1D, the upgrade program is supplied on floppy disk so that it can be copied directly into flash memory,
overwriting the existing version.
NOTE: Only the controller program can be overwritten. Test, maintenance-mode, and loader programs
cannot be overwritten.
Note that this new method for updating the system program applies only to the control unit. There is no change in the
method used for updating the program on the other units.

Supported FD formats are as follows.
2HD: 1.44 MB
2DD: 720 KB, 640 KB
Note that the 2HD-1.2 MB format is not supported.
If incorrect disk was inserted, please switch the
power off/on and start again from the beginning.
Do not remove the floppy disk, and do not switch off
the power, while this message appears on the screen.
The number at the left shows the program version
currently installed in the controller. The number at
right shows the updata version (the version stored
in the floppy disk).
If you switch power off or eject the floppy
disk while upgrading is in progress, you
will need to do the following to resume
normal operation: with power off, hold
down both the PLAY and PAUSE buttons
and then switch on the power. You can then
restart the upgrade from the beginning.
