Alignment
ALIGNMENT-10
S-meter Adjustment
Set the VFO-A frequency to 14.200 MHz in the
CW-USB mode.
Set the following controls as indicated:
[ANT] : ANT 1
[IPO] : AMP1
[ATT] : OFF
[R.FLT] : 3 kHz
[AGC] : AUTO
[RF GAIN] : Fully clockwise
Connect the RF Signal Generator to the “ANT 1”
jack, then set the frequency to 14.200 MHz.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
Refer to the chart below and select the
appropriate “Alignment Parameter” using
the Main Tuning Dial knob. Set the RF Signal
Generator output to each level, and adjust the
[VFO-B/CLAR] knob for the corresponding
S-meter reading. Press the [ENT] key to save
the new setting at each level.
Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new settings and exit the
alignment mode.
FM Gain Adjustment
Set the Main Band (VFO-A) frequency to 28.850
MHz in the FM-W mode.
Set the following controls as indicated:
[ANT] : ANT 1
[IPO] : AMP1
[ATT] : OFF
[R.FLT] : 15 kHz
[AGC] : AUTO
[RF GAIN] : Fully clockwise
Set the RF Signal Generator to 12 dBµ at the
28.8500 MHz with ±3.5 kHz deviation FM
modulation of a 1 kHz audio signal.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “7-01 FM-GAIN 28”.
Rotate the [VFO-B/CLAR] knob so that the
S-meter reading is “S-3”.
Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new setting and exit the
alignment mode.
Set the RF Signal Generator to 9 dBµ at the
52.000 MHz with ±3.5 kHz deviation FM
modulation of a 1 kHz audio signal.
Set the VFO-A frequency to 52.000 MHz in the
FM-W mode.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode again.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “7-02 FM-GAIN 50”.
Rotate the [VFO-B/CLAR] knob so that the
S-meter reading is “S-3”.
Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new setting and exit the
alignment mode.
