6. While scanning the Weather channels, press
the PTT switch and then press the PTT switch
again.
• Scanning starts within the Weather Broadcast
Channels.
• While scanning the Weather channels, press
the PTT switch and then rotate the DIAL
knob to select the desired Weather Broadcast
Channel.
7. Press the [ V/M
] key return to normal operation.

Skip Memory Channel and Specified Memory Channel
Two types of memory channels may be designated, “skip memory channels” and “speci-
fied memory channels” for effective memory channel scanning.
Skip memory channels: Permits designating undesired channels to be skipped during
scanning. Alternatively, you can specify that only designated memory channels are
scanned during memory scanning.
Programmable Memory scan (PMS)
This function scans only the range of frequencies between the lower and upper limits
registered in a pair of PMS Programmable Memory channels. 50 sets of PMS memory
channels (L1/U1 to L50/U50) are available.
Dual Receive (DW) feature
The transceiver checks for signals on the frequency registered to the selected memory
channel (Priority Memory Channel) once approximately every 5 seconds.
