ELECTRIC TOOL HANDLING AND MAINTANCE
Salety Rules for Circular Saws
WARNING
:
Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Cutting procedures
Danger! Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on
auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be
cut by the blade.
Do not reach underneath the workplece. The guard protect you from the blade below
the workpiece.
Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness ot the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the
blade teeth should be visible below the workpiece.
Never hold piece being cut in your hands or across your leg. Secure the workpiece to
stable platl
f
orm. lt is important to support
th
e work prop
e
rly to minimize body
exposure, blade binding, or loss of cont
rol.
Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, when performing an operation
where the cutting tool may contact h
i
dden
or
it
own cord. Contact with a "live" wire
will also make exposed metal parts of the
tool
"live" and could give the operator an
electric shock,
When ripping, always use a rip fence or straight edge guide. This improves the
accuracy of cut and reduces the chance of blade binding.
Always use
b
lades
with
correct
size
and shape (diamond versus round) of arbor holes.
Blades
that
do not match the mounting
clamping
of the saw will run eccentrically,
causing loss of control.
Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt
were specially designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of
opera
t
ion.
lnspect the condition and quality of the wood and remove all nails from lumber before
cutting. Wet lumber, green lumber or pressure treated lumber require special attention
during cutting operation to
prevent
kickback.
Hold the saw firmly to prevent loss of control. Figures in this manual illustrate typical
hand support of
the
saw.
Depend
i
ng upon use, the swltch may not last the
life
o
f
the saw.
If
the swttch should
fail in the "OFF" position, the saw may not start. lf it should fail while the saw is
running
, the saw may not shut off. li either occurs, unplug the saw immediately and do
not use until repaired.
This
circular
saw should not be
mounted
to a table and converted to a table saw.
Circular saws are not designed or intended to be used as
table saws.
