Multiple Unit System
For multiple unit systems one unit is set as a master, this is the unit connected to the
computer and or the MIDI controller. This unit should be set-up as for a single unit
system. The remaining units should be set as slaves and connected via RS485 XLR
connectors in a chain to the master unit.
Select the following options in the Interface Setup menu:
Extern: Slave.
RS485 Baud:
2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 (Select the same as the RS485 baud
rate set on the master unit).
Remote ID Num
= 1-32 (Select the ID number, this should correspond to the ID
number for the relevant unit in the
software.)
Note that, if the unit is set to operate as a slave, as additional set of remote ID
numbers become available – these are the ‘shadow’ ID numbers and allow two units
to share the same ID number, effectively operating as identical copies of each other.
For example if the remote ID is set to be ‘1s’ (available one click above ID number
32) then any changes made to the unit set to ID 1 will also be applied to this unit.
Units with ID’s set as ‘shadows’ will not appear in the unit list when AudioCore scans
for available units.
(For more in-depth information on typical interface setups, see page 36.)
