By allowing colder outside air in at night, the indoor temperature of the dwelling can be kept low during
hot days.
The bypass works automatically. All you have to do is enter your comfort temperature in as described
in section 3.3 ‘switch setting options’. The Xcell 350V EC BP will work to the temperature set.
During the winter, ensure that the comfort temperature is not lower than your desired
temperature. If this is the case, it may result in the heating being on and the bypass being open.
This is energy wastage.
3.1.3 Frost protection
In periods of moderate to heavy frosts, the heat exchanger must be protected against frost-damage.
The Xcell 350V EC BP is fitted as standard with an automatic frost-protection system that temporarily
reduces the outside air supply.
A pre-heater is optional, giving the advantage of ensuring balanced ventilation at all times. This option
also offers greater comfort as the supplied air is pre-heated to virtually the inside temperature.
