Always follow the proper starting procedure as described below.
Starting When the Engine Is Cold
1.
Turn the key switch to the “ON” position.
2.
Make sure the transmission is in the neutral position.
3.
Turn the fuel tap to the “ON” position.
4.
Lift the choke lever up.
5.
Press and hold the brake lever on the right side of the handle bar.
6.
Open the throttle no more than 1/4 of the way.
7.
Press the start “yellow” button until the engine starts.
8.
Release the button as soon as the engine starts.
9.
After about 1 minute after the engine starts, push the choke lever down.
10.
Wait until the engine warms up for approximately 5 minutes. After the 5 minute warm up, you are
ready to go.
Starting When the Engine Is Warm
1.
Repeat steps 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 in section “Starting when the engine is cold”.

Press and hold the brake lever on the right side of the handle bar.

Open the kick start lever and from the top of the kick starter stroke, kick through to the bottom with a
rapid continuous motion.
8.
After about 1 minute after the engine starts, push the choke lever down.(LC - ZS)
9.
Wait until the engine warms up for approximately 5 minutes. After the 5 minute warm up, you are
ready to go.
