Humidity levels below 50 percent
When using coated paper of weight 177 g/m² or heavier in humidity levels below 50
percent, multifeed problems can occur.
1. To resolve the multifeed, do the following.
a. Make the following blower adjustments:
• Air Knife Blower: No change.
• Rear Lead Blower: Decrease the blower speed by one setting. For example,
if the blower speed is set at
7
, to decrease the speed by one setting,
change the setting to
6
.
• Front Blower: Decrease the blower speed by one setting.
b. Run a test print. If no multifeed occurs, the problem is resolved.
c. For the Rear Lead Blower and Front Blower, decrease the blower speed by one
setting.
d. Run a test print. If no multifeed occurs, the problem is resolved.
e. If multifeeds continue, repeat steps 1c and 1d twice.
2. If multifeeds continue, do the following.
a. Make the following blower adjustments:
• Air Knife Blower: Decrease the blower speed by one setting.
Note:
For the Air Knife Blower, decrease the speed only if the
current setting is
High
or
Mid
.
• Rear Lead Blower: Change the blower speed to the preset value, then
decrease the speed by one setting.
• Front Blower: Change the blower speed to the preset value, then decrease
the speed by one setting.
b. Run a test print. If no multifeed occurs, the problem is resolved.
c. If a multifeed occurs again, do the following:
• Air Knife Blower: Decrease the blower speed by one setting.
Note:
For the Air Knife Blower, decrease the speed only if the
current setting is
High
or
Mid
.
• Rear Lead Blower: Decrease the blower speed by one setting.
• Front Blower: Decrease the blower speed by one setting.
d. Run a test print. If no multifeed occurs, the problem is resolved.
e. If multifeeds continue, for the Rear Lead Blower and Front Blower only, repeat
steps 2c and 2d twice.
3. If the problem is not resolved, contact your Xerox representative.
