Messages
The following types of IPS Gateway messages are documented below.
When issued, these messages display on the IPS Gateway window (as
shown on the window in the “ IPS Gateway window elements ” section).
• Fault messages
• IPDS messages
• Trace messages
• Printer messages
IPS Gateway exception handling messages are also documented.
Fault messages
Place the mouse pointer over a displayed fault message for instructions
on clearing that fault.
System fault.
Explanation: An unrecoverable error has occurred.
System response: IPS Gateway disables UI functions.
User action: Exit and restart IPS Gateway. If the problem persists, contact Xerox
technical support.
IPS Gateway communication fault.
Explanation: IPS Gateway was not able to communicate with the required IPS Gateway
services.
System response: IPS Gateway disables UI functions.
User action: Exit and restart IPS Gateway.
Not authorized.
Explanation: The IPS Gateway license could not be found or contains invalid
information.
System response: IPS Gateway disables processing.
User action: Select License from the IPS Gateway Setup menu and verify that the
XRX_IPS_NPS_software license information is entered and is not
expired. If a valid license is entered, cancel the License window and
select Resume to start IPDS processing. If the license information is not
valid, contact your Xerox customer service representative.
