What does the inverter consume from the battery?
As an easy starting point, it can be assumed that a 12Vdc inverter generally uses
about 10A. from the battery to generate 100 Watts. With a 24Vdc device this is
5A for every 100Watt.
With a consumption of 1500 Watt (12Vdc) the inverter therefore requires 150A.
In a period of 5 min, the battery is thus discharged by 150 : 60 x 5 = 12.5A.
Remark: when a 1500Watt inverter delivers a power of 600Watt, then it
consumes also only 600Watt from the battery.

Problem
(Possible) Cause
Solution
The inverter gives a
pulsed acoustic signal
The input voltage is
becoming too low.
Charge the battery.
The inverter gives a
uninterrupted acoustic
signal. Also the red
indicator ‘fault’ lights
.
Input voltage above or
below operating limit.
The 230VAC output is
switched off.
Make sure that the input
voltage is back within the
operating limit:
- Use sufficiently thick
cables to prevent voltage
loss.
- Recharge the battery
- Make sure that the input
voltage cannot rise too
high
Red indicator ‘fault’
lights.
Temperature protection
active
- check that the fan is
working and that the
inverter has sufficient
ventilation possibilities
- inverter is located in a
location with a high
ambient temperature.
Place the inverter in a
cooler environment.
- reduce the load.
Red indicator ‘fault’ blinks
slowly
Problem on the output
There is a short-circuit or
overload. Check the
consumers on faults and
the height of the total load.
When the problem has
been resolved, the inverter
will restart automatically.
