Operation
Playing an audio source
› Check that all connections have been made properly.
› Turn the VOLUME control dial completely to the left.
› Turn the TREBLE and BASS control dials to a central position.
› Turn the audio source on, for example a CD player.
› Select a sound source (e.g. CD player) by pressing one of the source selection buttons.
› Adjust the VOLUME control dial to the desired listening level.
› Never listen to extremely loud music levels over longer periods of time. This could damage your
hearing. This is especially true when using headphones.
› Adjust the tone with the TREBLE and BASS control dials or use the PRESET EQ button to select
a diff erent tone.
› When you’re fi nished using the amplifi er turn the VOLUME control dial completely to a mini-
mum (turn to the left) and press the POWER button to turn it off . Please do not forget to turn off
your device after use.
Failing to comply with the above sequence could cause damage to the loudspeakers
or the amplifi er.
Recording
› Select a recording source (e.g. CD player) by pressing one of the source selection buttons.
› Press the record button on the device to be recorded from. This device must be connected to
the TAPE REC jack.
› Volume and tone settings have no eff ect on the recording quality.
Before contacting a service technician, check the following troubleshooting information for a
possible solution, if your amplifi er is not operating as it should:
Distorted sound or no sound is audible
› Check if connections are correct.
› Check if all devices in the playback chain have been turned on and/or are connected.
› Check if the right input has been selected.
› Check the volume control’s position.
The remote control does not respond
› Check if the batteries have been inserted correctly.
› If batteries are empty, replace them with new ones.
› Point the remote control to the remote sensor and press to operate.
› Remove any objects found between the remote control and the remote sensor.
› Make sure the distance between the remote control and the device does not exceed 8 m.
Buttons do not function (on the device, as well as on the remote control)
› Turn the device off and then on again. As an alternative, turn the device off , unplug it from the
power outlet and plug in again. (The device also may not be functioning due to a stroke of light-
ning, static electricity or other external factors.).
A channel does not function
› The audio cable may have become disconnected from either the audio source or the amplifi er
input.
› A loudspeaker cable may have become disconnected from the speaker terminal.
A buzzing sound can be heard
› An overamplifi ed signal has been transmitted to the amplifi er input.
› The volume is too high, causing speaker distortion.
› The treble and bass control dials have been turned up to high.
› There is no ground terminal connection or it’s been disconnected (this applies to record player
playback).
› An audio cable may be defect.
Distortion results
› An overamplifi ed signal has been transmitted to the amplifi er input.
› The volume is too high, causing speaker distortion.
› The selected audio source is a high level device, which has been incorrectly connected to the
amplifi er’s PHONO input.
› The equalizer controls are set to high.
