4.0 Remove Firebox Contents:
Ensure the firebox contents have cooled down completely
before attempti ng to touch or remove any part.
First remove all fuel bed media (Driftwood and white stones
or Coals) and place them carefully to the side somewhere
they will not be damaged.
The driftwood logs are very fragile – Use extreme care !
Next remove the burner by removing the screw holding
it in place as shown to the righ t, and then lifting the left side
of the burner upwards and sliding the burner off the jet on
the righ t hand side.
You will also need to remove the Pilot Cover (The long grill at the fron t of the firebox)
in order to access and clean the pilot and thermocouple. To do this, remove the two
screws on either side of the Pilot Cover and lift upwards, as shown below, taking care
not to scrape or damage the firebox as shown below.
5.0 Remove Control Tra y [if required] :
If the thermocouple needs to be replaced , or the Contro l Tray needs to be cleaned, it
may be necessary to remove the control tray from the appliance.
First remove the
control unit cover by removing the two screws as picture d to the
right.
