2.) General information
The HSG Compact, used in combination with a safety
harness, is intended solely to protect persons who are at
risk of falling (e.g. off ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc.) while
carrying out their work.
Function:
The HSG Compact limits the energy generated during a fall
to an amount that can be withstood by the body (less than 6
kN). Once used to arrest an actual fall, the HSG Compact
must be removed from service and destroyed! The annual
inspection has to be performed by a competent person
according to BGG 906 (i.e. country regulations for ppe
inspection). Attaching the HSG Compact (see Fig. 1): 1.
Hook fastening element (1) exclusively in fall arrest eyelet
of the safety harness. 2. Attach opposite fastening element
(2) to a secure anchor point. Ensure that the HSG Compact
(3) is not impeded and that it does not run over edges or
around bends. Safety karabiners and/or fastening elements
must always be protected from lateral and bending pres-
sures. The HSG Compact lanyard/s shall not be used in a
‚Tie Back‘ manner.

3.) Use in Elevating work platforms
3.1) The HSG Compact range is suitable for use in Elevat-
ing Work Platforms (EWP). Use only anchor points with the
appropriate strength & compatibility and labelled as such
(at least 3 kN) that are mounted at least 40 cm below the
handrail. When using higher anchor points a safe operation
is no longer guaranteed.
3.2) The anchor point, and the entire platform extended in
the unfavorable case must be able to accommodate a
dynamic surge. User weight < 100 kg: 3 kN – max. 6 kN.
User weight < 135 kg : max. 6 kN. If the AP is higher, there
is danger to full failure and upset!
3.3) Violations by the impact on the working cage or the
boom can not be excluded.
Use in scaffolding:
The 2,5 m version is for use in scaf-
folding only. The anchor point needs to be 1 m above the
working level.
