SETUP
CAUTION
: Always wear gloves when handling the UV light
bulb.
1. The box containing the UV bulb is wedged inside the lamp
housing for shipping. After unpacking the unit, carefully remove the UV bulb box
from the lamp housing. Then, remove the UV bulb from its box.
2. Align the pins on the bulb with the socket in the base of the lamp, and gently slide
the bulb into place. Press it down until the bulb snaps into place.
3. Install the A23 battery in the remote control
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Plug the UV lamp into a suitable AC power outlet.
2. Turn the unit on by pressing the ON/OFF button on the remote
control. The lamp illuminates. The indicator LED flashes for 10
seconds after the lamp powers on, alerting people to evacuate the
room. The lamp does not illuminate immediately in order to ensure
that humans and pets can leave the room safely before the lamp
illuminates. When the motion sensor detects nearby movement,
the UV lamp immediately powers off. After the people or pets
leave the room, the light remains off for an additional 45 seconds. Then, the light
automatically powers on and resumes the sterilization protocol.
3. Select the desired length of time for sterilizing the room by pressing one of the
timer buttons. 15’ sets the lamp for 15 minutes, 30’ for 30 minutes and 60’ for
60 minutes. The unit automatically tracks the cumulative sterilization time, even
when the unit is interrupted by motion. When the timed cycle is finished, the lamp
automatically shuts off.
Recommended Sterilization Times:

Bedrooms: 15-30 minutes
•
Kitchens and bathrooms: 15-30 minutes
•
Living rooms: 60 minutes
THEORY OF OPERATION
The wavelength of the ultraviolet light damages the DNA and RNA of microorganisms
by irradiating them. The bacteria will not be able to reproduce, effectively disinfecting
the irradiated area.
