9.7 Adjusting the high-speed rebound damping of the shock absorber
Caution
Risk of injury
Parts of the shock absorber will move around if the shock absorber is detached incor-
rectly.
The shock absorber is filled with highly compressed nitrogen.

Turn counterclockwise by the number of clicks correspond-
ing to the shock absorber type.
Guideline
High-speed rebound damp-

Turn clockwise to increase the damping; turn coun-
terclockwise to reduce the damping at a fast rebound
speed.
9.8 Measuring the dimension of the rear wheel unloaded
Preparatory work

Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 12)

Measure the vertical distance between the rear axle and a
fixed point such as a marking on the side cover.
