3.2 Insert holder
Various insert holders for forward
machining, for chamfering, for
reverse machining and for outside
turning are available (pages 28).
Fastening:
The insert holder is fastened on the
serrated slide with serrated front
face using cap screws and clam-
ping bolts. As an adjustment aid, there are
scales on the insert holders and serrated
slides.
3.3 Height-adjustable insert
holder (Roughing Unit)
The height-adjustable insert
holder is generally used with
the precision boring tool 337 or
537 digital for combined rough
machining/finish machining
(Combi-Line). However, the height-
adjustable insert holder can also be used
for two-edge roughing or for a stepped cut.
The height-adjustable insert holder consists
of a support
①
and an insert holder
②
.
Fastening:
The height-adjustable insert
holder is fastened on the
serrated slide with serrated
front face using cap screws
and clamping bolts. As an
adjustment aid, scales are
engraved on the serrated
slides and the height-adjus-
table insert holder.
The support of the height-
adjustable insert holder features a second
serrated body on which the insert holder is
fastened.
Height adjustment (axial):
To do this, loosen the fixing screw
③
and
adjust the insert holder with the adjusting
screw
④
in the range + 0.9 to -0.5 mm.
Then tighten the fixing screw again.
3.4 Precision boring tools
The precision boring tool assembly com-
prises a precision boring tool
⑤
, an insert
holder
⑦
and the clamping elements
⑥
.
Two different precision boring tools are
available:
Fastening:
The clamping elements (supplied as stan-
dard) of the serrated slides are to be repla-
ced with the clamping elements for the
precision boring tools.
The precision boring tool is fastened on the
serrated slide with serrated front face using
cap screw
⑧
, disc spring
⑨
and clam-
ping bolt
⑩
. Please note: the long side
of the clamping bolt has to be mounted
turned away from the cutting edge, with
the flat part pointing in the direction of the
screw head. As an adjustment aid, there
are scales on the serrated slides holders
and precision boring tools.
