7. CLEANING
7.1 Safety regulations
• Always observe the safety and hazard warnings on cleaning chemicals and put on appropriate
protective clothing (e.g. glasses, gloves etc.).
7.2 Requirements for the person carrying out the cleaning
• Informed persons who have been instructed via the operating instructions
• See also the information on the cleaning product that is used
7.3 Recommended cleaning agents
• Cleaning combination of DEXDA® Clean & KXpress for biofilm removal, disinfection of the UV-unit and
descaling (see also chapter Spare parts and accessories (p.57))
For other cleaning agents the manufacturer cannot give any guarantee regarding material compatibility and functionality.
7.4 Recommended cleaning interval
• Depending on user behaviour and water quality: 1-4 times a year
Ex. 1: When using the fresh water system exclusively „on holiday“ and tanked tap water quality:
1-2 times a year
Ex. 2: For long-term trips and treatment of „surface water“ (pre-filtration and a second
disinfection level being required): 2-4 times a year 4 times a year
Ex. 3: For regular use, e.g. in the industrial/medical sector, in accordance with the relevant norms/
hygiene standards and with the hardness of the water (recommendation: at least: 1x per year)
8. DEINSTALLATION/DECOMMISSIONING
Information!
The deinstallation/decommissioning of the UV-unit must either be carried out by a qualified workshop
or by a technically experienced person (see also chapter Minimum qualifications for handling the
product (p.35)).
8.1 Safety regulations
When deinstalling/decommissioning, observe the instructions in the chapter Safety (p.34).
Caution!
• UV-C radiation can cause damage to skin and eyes.
• Never open the housing of the UV-unit.
• Never look into the openings of the water connections when the UV-unit is switched on.
• Only operate the UV-unit when the housing is undamaged and closed.
• Pay attention to other persons and direct them out of the danger area.
