•
Switch on the station by turning on the switch.
•
Turn on both stations with the yellow switches.
•
With the temperature-adjustment-buttons you can regulate the temperature between 150°C and 480°C.
•
At the first line you can see the active temperature.
Advise:
•
When the system is damaged you can hear a warning signal and the display shows “ERROR”.
•
In these case turn of the system immediately and put off the 230V Plug.
•
The power switch of the SMD rework system should be switched to OFF position if you want to stop the
SMD rework system. This action will in about one minute (Do not disconnect the plug during cooling).
•
After finished cooling you can disconnect the power plug.
•
The temperature of the soldering tip or the nozzle will reach as high as around 752°F (400°C) when the
power switch is on. Since mishandling may lead to burn and fire, be sure to comply with the following
precautions:
o
Do not touch metallic parts near the flammable items.
o
Do not use this system near the flammable items.
o
Advise other people in the work area that the unit can reach a very high temperature and
should be considered potentially dangerous.
o
Turn off the power switch while taking breaks and when finishing using.
o
Before replacing parts or storing the system, turn off the power and let it cool down to the room
temperature.
•
Take care of your tools. Do not use the tools for any applications other than soldering or desoldering.
•
Do not rap the iron/gun against the work bench or otherwise subject the iron to serve shocks.
•
Do not file the soldering tip or remove the oxide, please wipe the tip on the cleaning sponge.
•
Use only accessories or attachments witch are listed in the operation manual. Use of other tools and
other accessories can lead to a danger of injury.
•
Please turn off the power before connecting or disconnecting the soldering iron.
•
Before further use, safety devices or slightly damaged parts must be carefully checked for error-free and
intended operation. Inspect moving parts for error-free operation and that they don’t bind, or whether
any parts are damaged. Damaged safety devices and parts must be repaired or replaced by a qualified
technician.
Handling Soldering Iron:
•
Precondition of a good result is a carefully work and a good soldering tin. We recommend to us a tin
with a collophonium central-core. Do not use some flux. The flux in the central core of the tin reduces
the corrosion of the material and gives a protective coat. The most used tin electronic is the type L-SN
60 Pb Cu 2 (DIN 6516) with a tin content of 60%. This tin is available in various diameters, but in
electronic you prefer 1mm.
•
Before use you must tin plate the tip. Switch on the station to a temperature of 200°C and melt the tin
on the tip to a perfect coat.
•
Deciding of a good result is the temperature. At electronic work the best temperature is 300°C ... 380°C
when the temperature is too low the mechanical connection is not good. When temperature is too high
and the flux is burning off. And the electronic components could be damaged.
•
Wipe off the residues of the flux at the sponge. Before you lay off the iron clean the tip, and tin-plate it.
It is important to do this for a long use of the tip.
•
When the tip has reached the adjusted temperature put it to the soldering point together with the tin.
•
At first the flux will flow around the point and then the tin. The soldering time should not exceed 2
seconds. After cooling the soldering point the surface should be smooth. Bad soldering points you can
identify at a bad surface. The cause of this is the wrong tin and a too long soldering time.
•
At the end of the soldering work tin plate the tip again to protect it of corrosion.
Handling Desoldering Iron:
•
Before use please take care the right assembling of the tin-absorber!
•
The tin-absorber can be opened by use the unlock button on the backside of the unit.
•
The right assembling of this unit of front side is: 1. rubber-socket with absorber spring 2. Housingtube
3. Filterelement.
•
The desoldering unit has some swithbutton to switch on the vacuum-pump.
•
Before use you must tin plate the tip. Switch on the station to a temperature of 200°C and melt the tin
on the tip to a perfect coat.
•
To achieve a long good result, please clean the tin-absorber in continuous time-slice.
•
If the desoldering-tip is congested please use the included cleaning-wire.
