be shut-off to the fireplace by simply removing
the fireplace surround to gain access to the

5. The fireplace and its main burner valve must be
disconnected from the gas supply piping
system during any pressure testing of that
system at test pressures in excess of ½ psi
(3.5kPa).
6.
The fireplace must be isolated from the gas
supply piping system by closing the gas shut-off
valve during any pressure testing of the gas
supply system at test pressures equal to or less
than ½ psi (3.5kPa).
After the gas supply has been connected, use a
commercial gas leak detector or apply a soapy
water solution to all the fittings to check for gas
leaks.
Never use a flame to test for leaks.
