11.1.3 Update BIOS

1. Obtain the ROM file and flash utility. See “Cables and Software Drivers” on page 57.

2. Extract the files from the zip archive to the root directory of a bootable USB flash

drive.

3. Insert the USB flash drive in USB port of the PPC65B-1x and apply power to the

board.

4. Boot to EFI-Shell mode.

5. At the prompt, enter the command

fs0:

to change to the root directory of the USB

drive.

6. At the root directory of the USB drive, enter the command

update

to start the

updating the BIOS.

7. When the update has completed, there will be a 5-second pause and then the

computer automatically restarts.

8. Press

<Del>

to open the BIOS setup menu and select

Restore Defaults

9. To finish the update, select the

Save Changes and Reset Changes

option.
