Before You Begin
Review the warnings in this section and the best practice
recommendations (see “Best Practices” on page 38) when using and
handling the WINSYSTEMS PPC12-427 panel PC. Following these
recommendations provides an optimal user experience and prevents
damage. Read through this document and become familiar with the
PPC12-427 before proceeding.

Only qualified personnel should configure and install the PPC12-427.

This manual provides configuration and usage information for the PPC12-

Functionality
The PPC12-427 is a rugged, 12.1-inch panel PC featuring the latest
generation Intel Apollo Lake-I SOC processor.
This full-featured panel PC supports three independent video displays,
one LVDS output to the 12.1-inch panel PC, two additional DisplayPorts,
dual Ethernet, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, eight general
purpose I/O (GPIO) lines, two channels analog-to-digital converter (ADC),
stereo audio, and a Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0)
FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THESE BEST PRACTICES MAY DAMAGE THE PPC12-
427 AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
Avoid Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
Only handle the circuit board and other bare electronics when electrostatic
discharge (ESD) protection is in place. Having a wrist strap and a fully grounded
workstation is the minimum ESD protection required before the ESD seal on
the product bag is broken.
