Install the side mounting plate.
Set the three tabs on the bottom edge of the G5JAM into the three corresponding holes
in the frame of the G5. The picture to the left is looking down into the G5. Be sure to
support the Side Panel securely at all times during the installation. The Side panel is not
permanently attached to the G5, so take great care when opening or closing the Side
Panel.

Connecting Power and Data cables to TOP drives.
Attach the SATA cables to the hard disk drives. Any right angle connectors should be
attached to the drives and the straight connectors should be attached to the PCI card
connectors. The lower drive of the horizontally mounted drives can take a straight SATA
Data connector. Attach one cable to the top drive first, then the second cable to the lower
hard disk drive. Attach the Right angle connector to the top drive and the straight, flat
connector to the lower drive.

Connecting Power and Data cables to LOWER drives.
Attach the Female ends of the Y-Power Connector to the power connectors on the hard
disk drives. Be sure cables are routed safely out of the way when closing up the G5
JAM/JAM+.

Close it up.
Take care that all cables are routed out of the way when closing the G5JAM Side Panel.
If you have a full length PCI card in the top PCI slot, check to be sure there is adequate
clearance for the hard disk drives while closing the Side Panel. If you run into clearance
issues, you may want to reconfigure the drive arrangement if less than four drives are
being installed.
The original G5 side plate may now be re-attached. Be sure the release tab on the back
of the G5 is in the up position when putting the original side plate in place. No one will
ever know the speed and storage you have harnessed inside your G5. They will only
wonder why theirs can’t do what yours does. Unless they have a G5 JAM/JAM+ too!
When you restart your G5 you are ready to JAM! Use Disk Utility to format the new drives as singles or create a
RAID of your choice.
