Defrosting and Cleaning the Refrigerated Compartment
(model WHKM-D30 only)
Defrost and clean the refrigerated compartment when ice
becomes
³⁄₈
" (1 cm) thick. In high humidity areas, the refrigerated
compartment may need to be cleaned and defrosted more
frequently.
Defrosting
1. Unplug water cooler.
2. Remove all food and the shelf from the refrigerated
compartment. Store the food in another refrigerator or a
cooler with ice.
3. Place a pan filled with hot water in the refrigerated
compartment and leave the door open to speed melting.
NOTE: Do not use any type of scraper to remove ice from the
refrigerator compartment.
4. Using a towel or sponge, wipe the water from the refrigerated
compartment walls.
Cleaning
1. Hand wash, rinse and dry the interior walls of the refrigerated
compartment. Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild
detergent in warm water.
■
Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners such as window
sprays, scouring cleansers, flammable fluids, cleaning
waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleansers
containing petroleum products on plastic parts, interior
and door liners or gaskets. Do not use paper towels,
scouring pads, or other harsh cleaning tool.
■
To help remove odors, you can wash the interior walls
with a solution of baking soda and warm water (2 tbs to
1 qt [26 g to 0.95 L]).
2. Replace the shelf.
3. Plug in water cooler.
4. Allow the refrigerated compartment to cool completely before
storing food.
