3.
NOTE: Due to the double-wall construction of the fender, additional
clearance between to the inner and outer fender walls is needed to
allow the backing plate to fit into position. Using a drift pin or similar
tool, increase this space in the area shown by approximately 1/8”
(.125”).
4.
NOTE: As shown above, there is an alternative access area
located in the area indicated that may be preferable to some. If
this area is selected, be sure to follow all of the applicable steps
outlined below (excluding references to access through the
inner fender).
Gain access to the back side of the fender by removing the panel
clips that secure the lower, rear-most part of the inner fender to the
fender. Removing the lowest, rear clip and the four adjacent clips
should be sufficient. With these clips removed, tuck the inner fender
behind the tire.
5.
Insert the wire snake (included) down through the wire passage hole
and towards fender/inner fender gap just created. It will be necessary
to guide the wire by reaching up and pulling the wire down through
the gap.
6.
Locate the backing plate. Thread the wire snake though this plate
following the same route as shown in the artwork above. Pull enough
wire through the plate to allow for an additional 18” of wire below the
backing plate.
7.
Locate the Power cable and Communication cables. Using tape or
whatever preferred method, secure one end of each cable to the wire
snake below the backing plate.
8.
Using the wire snake, pull the backing plate up into position against
the inside of the fender. When all the holes are aligned, secure the
plate to the fender position using the #8-32 x .375” screw provided.
Wire snake shown secured
to the both the Power and
Communication cables.
