Operation
3.
Push the soldering tip exchange tool upwards (towards
the soldering tip) until the tip releases from the holder.
4.
Insert the new soldering tip into the holder, pressing it
down all the way as far as it will go (For replacement
soldering tips refer to the “Technical Data”).
Switching on and Heating up
1. Move the sliding switch (5) into the “ON” position.
2. Press and hold the heating button (4) to heat up the
soldering tip. Using new batteries, heating-up takes about
20 seconds. The power indicator LED (2) shines as long
as the button is depressed.
3. Release the button at reasonable intervals to avoid
overheating the soldering tip, the soldering point and the
soldered components. This procedure also helps to
extend battery life.
4. Keep the soldering tip tinned before, during and after
work. To do this, let some solder melt and flow around the
tip. The entire soldering tip must evenly be coated with a
thin coat of solder.
5. Wipe off excessive solder on a moistened cleaning
sponge. Though, ensure that the soldering tip is well
coated all the time.
Breaks
When you take a break in your work, put the soldering iron
in an upright position with the soldering tip facing upwards.
