4. Taking Measurements
4. Place the probes to the component or circuitry to be tested. The
result can now be read from the display (1).
Hints:
ƒ Connect the red probe to the anode of the diode (end of diode
without ring marking) and the black probe to the cathode.
ƒ Of a value of up to 3 V is displayed, the component is working
correctly in forward direction; the forward voltage is displayed. If an
overload “0.L“ is indicated, the diode is not working correctly.
ƒ Now turn the diode around (Red + to cathode and black – to the
anode). If an overload “0.L” is indicated now, the diodes blocks,
which means it is working correctly in this direction. If a voltage
value is displayed, the diode does not work correctly.
4.5 Continuity Test
With this function you can check circuitry, cables or components for
continuity.
Please Notice!
Do not perform continuity tests on voltage-carrying components or
circuitry.
Procedure
1. Make sure the component or circuit to be measured is voltage-
free.
2. Connect the red probe to the V; ; ; Ω ; CAP input (11) and the
black probe to the COM input (12).
3. Set the rotary function switch (10) to “ ; Ω ; ; CAP” The unit is
now set to the resistance measuring mode. Press “Mode” twice to
switch to the continuity test mode. This is confirmed by being
displayed in the upper right of the display.
4. Connect the probes to the component or circuitry you intend the
measure.
