Operation
6. Check the correct chain tension. The chain should not be too loose, but
you should be able to lift it off the guide bar by a few millimetres. Finally
hand tight the chain tension bolt and the sprocket cover.
Chain Oil
1. The branch cutter is delivered without oil.
Before using the branch cutter for the first
time, fill suitable chain oil into the oil tank
(4). Operating the branch cutter without
chain oil will damage the machine.
2. Open the oil tank cap. Only use bio-
degradable chain saw oil. Observe the oil
level indicator on the oil tank. The oil tank
has to be filled at least up to the half. While
filling, make sure dirt cannot get into the oil
tank. Dirt can damage the built-in oil pump.
Saw Chain
1. Only use sharp chains. Dull chains easily can get jammed.
2. While working with new chains, regularly check the chain tension because
new chains can lengthen considerably upon initial operation.
3. The service life of a saw chain mainly depends on sufficient lubrication
and correct tensioning.
4. Do not tension a hot chain. After cooling down, the chain may shorten and
therefore becomes over tensioned.
