Cleaning and Storing
Cleaning and Storing
If you intend to store the snow thrower for long time, proceed as follows:
1. Close the gas cock (6). Fill the fuel tank with petrol. Add a fuel stabilizer in
order to keep the fuel fresh for the long time storage. Follow the manufac-
turer’s instructions when adding fuel stabilizer. Please note that a full tank
will avoid condensation to the inner wall of the fuel tank.
2. Drain the oil from the oil tank and re-tighten the oil drain plug. Fill the oil
tank with fresh engine oil up to the H marking.
3. Remove the spark plug and fill one teaspoon clean engine oil into the
cylinder. Slowly pull the recoil starter (7) several times in order to distribute
the oil evenly. Reattach the spark plug on the cylinder. Finally pull the
recoil starter once more until a resistance is felt. Now, both valves (inlet
valve and outlet valve) are closed. In this position the engine is protected
against corrosion.
4. Thoroughly clean the housing of the snow thrower with a hand broom or a
cloth. Lightly oil all metal parts with oil to protect them from rust.
Store the snow thrower in dry location and protect the machine from dust
and dirt. Select a storage location that is well ventilated.
If desired, jack up the snow thrower so the tyres will not touch the ground.
When covering the snow thrower during storage, do not use a plastic
tarpaulin, it will trap moisture around the engine. Preferably cover the
machine with a gunnysack or similar.
Some components are subject to wear, damage and deterioration.
Frequently check these components and replace them, when necessary.
Only use original replacement parts.
