Please Note
To adapt the unit to the environmental temperature quicker, you can lightly
sway the unit back and forth.
Influence of Temperature and Humidity
Temperature and humidity influence the measuring results (distances
measured longer or shorter) of the unit. Because of this the unit is equipped
with an automatic temperature compensation function for the temperature
range between 0 and 38 °C.
The measured values are higher than correct if both temperature and humidity
are high or if both temperature and humidity are low.
The measured values are lower than correct if the temperature is low and the
humidity high or vice versa.
The unit compensates such influences down to a margin of error of ± 0.5 %.
Error Messages
Under some circumstances measuring errors can occur. The following error
messages can be displayed.
ERROR 1 Æ No Reflected Signal
ERROR 2 Æ Invalid Value
ERROR 3 Æ Calculation Error
Possible Causes:
1. out of Range (without target unit: 0.6 - 18 m; with target unit: 1 - 75m);
2. the measuring line is not in a right angle to the measured surface or
the target unit;
3. the surface is not even and solid on a measuring in single mode;
4. high ambient noise levels (traffic, machines, or high winds);
5. the unit or the target moved during measuring in dual mode;
