Using
Connect the output terminals of the charger to the battery with the
right polarity. Connect the power cord to the power outlet. The
charger starts charging with a current of 10.5-13.6 V, 1.0 A +/-0.1A
resp. 13.6-14.4 V, 0.6 A +/-0.1 A. Charging continues through
charging stages 25% - 50% - 75% - 100%. The corresponding
battery charging stated LEDs (H) light up. A fully charged battery
has a voltage of
≥13.6 V -0.3 V / 0.2 A +/-0.05 A.
The trickle current (0.1 A +/-0.05 A) is now available for
maintenance of the battery.
Recovering Mode
– Rescuing drained Battery
When the charger is connected to a battery, the charger
automatically detects the voltage of the battery before the start of
the charging process. If the voltage is below 1 V (for 6 V batteries)
or if the voltage is below 7.5 V (for 12 V batteries), the charger will
not start charging.
If the voltage is higher than 1 V (for 6 V batteries) or if the voltage is
higher than 7.5 V (for 12 V batteries), recovering charging mode is
started. The recovering mode LED (E) lights up. A voltage of 8 V
(for 6 V batteries) resp. a voltage of 16 V (for 12 V batteries) is
applied at 200 mA +/-50 mA.
Once the voltage of the battery rises to
≥5.25 V (for 6 V batteries) or
≥10.5 V (for 12 V batteries), the charger changes over to the
previously selected charging mode 1 or 2.
Most drained batteries can be charged and used again using this
procedure. Recuing process is finished after approx. 2 hours
(+/- 15 min).
Note: A battery left deep discharged for an extended period of time
may result in permanent damage to one or more cells, which may
heat up considerably during charging. Stop charging immediately if
the battery casing temperature becomes very hot. Dispose of this
battery professionally.
