Position shelf
assembly against
backplate (about 1/2"
higher than backplate,
then lower the shelf
straight down so the 4
mounting clips on the
shelf fit into the 4 tabs
on the backplate.
Tighten shelf screw to
secure shelf.

Facility/Network Interface Connections
Facility connections are made to the assembly by connecting
two 32-pair female connector cables to the two 32-pair male
connectors located on the front of the printed circuit board
backplane designated P1 (RCV) and P2 (XMT). See Table 3
for wiring information. An alternate method for making facili-
ty connections to the shelf may be provided via wirewrap pins
located at the top right and bottom right of the PCB backplane.
Connections are made by wirewrapping the appropriate leads
from the facility to the pins designated XMT and RCV for each
circuit. Connections are to be made using shielded twisted-pair
cable of a length and gauge consistent with local installation
practices. Refer to Table 3 and the PCB silkscreen for 56-pin
card-edge pin assignments, lead designation and circuit posi-
tion identification.
2.4
Customer Interface Connections
Customer Interface connections are made to the CIM located
on the side of the mounting, via either separate XMT and
RCV telco connectors or via the RJ48C modular jacks. See
Table 3 for 32-pair, RJ48(C/S) wiring information. For the List
5 model, set each circuit’s jack switch to the proper jack switch
type position (RJ48C, RJ48S, or RJ48H), per company prac-
tice and the proper application.
- GROUNDING NOTE -

cautions, and standard operating procedures for grounding the equipment
when installing, upgrading, repairing or maintaining equipment. Any in-
structions or information contained herein is subordinate to local codes,
operating procedures or practices.
