 There are a variety of plates available for this waffle maker.  
1.  To change to a different plate, make sure the waffle maker is unplugged and the plates  

  are completely cool.
2.  Slide the two channel covers (part #3) towards the center to expose the posts and release  

  the plates from the base (part #5).  
3.  Loosen the screws (part #4) securing the plates to the cover and open the waffle maker. 
  The plates will detach from the cover. To prevent loss of the screws, do not remove them  

  completely from the cover. 
4.  Choose the desired plates. On the back of each plate is a bump/indentation with a hole.  

  Slide the lug located under the handle (part #2) into the hole. Close the waffle maker and  

  secure each of the plates with the screws. Slide the plate covers over the plate posts.
5.  Open and close the waffle maker several times to confirm everything is tightly secured.
