Failure display
If a failure occurs the
red LED
on the side of the converter flashes/shines. The number of pulses after a
longer break allows the assignation of the status according to following chart:
Status code
Meaning
Measure
red
permanent on
Low voltage
- Increase wire cross section (extension cord)
- Check supply cable (cable interrupted)
- Use a generator with more power
red 1x pulse
Over temperature motor
- Increase water flow (cooling of motor or converter is too
low; water temperature is too high)
- Check hose connection
Never use waste water for cooling!
red 2x pulse
Over temperature
frequency converter
red 4x pulse
Overcurrent
- motor stops, motor has been used in the overload range
- Check motor cable and plug connection for damages
(short circuit)
red 5x pulse
Overload
- Reduce machine load, motor is operated in the overload
range
red 6x pulse
Encoding error
- Check plug contacts of machine and frequency
converter for dirt and damages
- Update frequency converter (encoding unknown)
red 7x pulse
Over current power
modul
- Check motor cable and connectors for damages (short
circuit)
Status display changes its status automatically. Fault signals will be deleted when the machine is
restarted (if the cause of defect has been removed).
In the course of continuous improvement of our products, the existing frequency converter FU6 D/C
has been equipped with some new features. Both the user and the service technician hereby have
significant advantages in operation and maintenance of the frequency converter.
An outstanding new feature is the integration of a Bluetooth® interface for simple and secure
execution of software updates (with the help of the "W EKA Service App").
As soon as the converter is connected to the power supply the Bluetooth interface will be activated
for six minutes. Within this time frame updates can be executed. If there is no access within this time
frame the interface will be deactivated and there is no connection possible as long the converter
stays connected to the power supply. Once the converter gets disconnected from the power supply
for two minutes and is reconnected a new time frame of six minutes will be opened to execute an
update.
In the following, the individual steps for carrying out an update are described in detail:
1)
Connect the converter to the power supply. The status and error report LED on the side of the
case will start flashing or light permanently if there is a machine connected. The converter is
ready and the Bluetooth interface is activated. If the LED stays off please check the power
supply and the wiring. Furthermore pay attention to the additional information below.
2)
Run the "W EKA Service App" on the smartphone (see additional information below) and select
"CHECK FOR UPDATES". Searching can take up to 30 seconds, during this time a list of all
available converters will be created showing the converters by their internal serial number, e.g.
"WEKA FU6 Sn.:00000".
3)
After selecting a listed converter the "W EKA Service App" will compare the current firmware
version to the available versions on the WEKA server and will prompt if an update is available.
If an update is available please confirm by selecting "Yes" to start the process. The converter
will perform all necessary steps fully automatically, meanwhile you can observe the data
