2.10.5.1. Install rotor alignment tool (P/N 0600581220) in bearing retainer
(15) to be used as a guide to rotor assembly.
2.10.5.2. Lubricate bearing cap O-ring (52) and place in grove in the bearing
cap (14). Install the bearing cap with the drain port down on the
pedestal with three hex head capscrews (60) and torque to 104 ft. lbs.
(141 NM).
2.10.5.3. Replace jackscrews with three 1/2" eyebolts (P/N 060055411) into
the holes in periphery of the rotor cover. Lift the rotor assembly by the
eyebolts, and carefully slide the assembly into the pedestal. BE SURE
THAT:
A. The alignment tool in the endplate bearing retainer (15) goes
through the corresponding hole in the pedestal (17) so that the
vent holes in both pieces will be aligned.
B. The shaft does not cock and bind the bearings.
C. The eyebolts have a long enough shank so that they will clear
the rotor housing (31) after the rotor (3) and shaft (5) are in
place.
2.10.5.4. Remove the alignment tool.
2.10.5.5. Install the three bearing retainer to pedestal capscrews (58).
Torque to 54 ft. lbs.
2.10.5.6. Install the pick up tube (1) per section 2.9.3 to 2.9.5.
2.10.6. Shimming instructions
2.10.6.1. For proper bearing and seal location, dimension "B" ( as shown in
Figure 2.10.6 ) must be controlled. Use the shimming bar (P/N
060580635) and a depth micrometer to measure the bearing & seal
location. This measurement is then subtracted from the number
stamped on the measuring bar. This will give you dimension "B". Refer
to the shim chart (
figure 2.10.6 ) to find the box in which the measured
value "B" falls. (This shims chart is based on shims .015" thick, actual
thickness may vary.)
