6. Performance check
6.1 Intervals
Check daily that the oxygen valve works properly. If you detect a fault, do not continue to
use it until the fault has been remedied.
6.2 Method
1. Assemble the valve so that it works with the therapy device. The control lamp

on the
top of the valve housing does not light up.
2. Close the opening of the mask, for example, using your thumb or hand.
3. Switch on your therapy device and then your oxygen supply. When the therapy device
is switched on, the valve opens with a slight “click"; this is indicated by the green indi-
cator lamp
9 . You can now set the prescribed fl ow on the fl owmeter of your oxygen
system. If this is not possible, first check the function of your oxygen system. (For exam-
ple: Is the cylinder empty? Are any of the hoses kinked?)
4. Switch the device off again. The valve closes audibly, the control lamp

goes out and
the fl ow displayed for the oxygen system drops to "0".
If correct function is not possible, contact your dealer or the manufacturer for repairs to the
equipment.
