Finding a model
3D printing requires a 3D design to print. There are a few ways you can get 3D models:
6.2.1.
Download online
There are multiple websites that allow you to download 3D models to print. A very popular site is
Thingiverse.com, but there are others. Most of these sites will allow you to download and use their models
for free. You can find a list of some of them on our website, at
weare3d.ca/3d-models.
If you need help
downloading, check out our Quick Start guide for step-by-step instructions.
6.2.2.
Design your own
There are many different 3D modeling software programs on the market, and you can use any of them that can
output an .stl file. Included with your MagiCube is a program called 3D Magic, which is an easy to use 3D
modelling program. Visit our website at
weare3d.ca/our-3d-products/3d-magic-design-and-modelling-software
for more information.
There are also advanced level 3D design programs such as Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks that allow you to
design more complicated objects that can be 3D printed or manufactured, as well as free or open source
software such as Sketckup Make, or OpenSCAD.
6.2.3.
3D scanning
A 3D scanner will allow you to capture real life objects or people, and create 3D models them. There is are two
scanners available on our website here:

.
6.3.
Slicing the model
The MagiCube uses a program called AnyPrint to slice the models for printing. See section 5 fin this manual
or information about AnyPrint and how to operate the software. Although you can print right from AnyPrint,
you can also generate an .x3g file that you can load onto a microSD card and print using the printer’s LCD
display. The .x3g file’s names should not be longer than 8 characters before the file extension (.x3g), or the file
will not show up on the LCD display.
6.4.
Starting the print
